Multiple Session Data burn to DVD??

I'm having one heck of a time getting anything but coasters trying to
get more than one session burned to a DVD. What I'm trying to do is burn
files, all kinds, then when I need to I'll use the same disk and burn
some more. I use DVD +R not RWs but I should be able to fill them up.
I've tried my regged Nero, Vista and closed session the way the help
files say to. Is there an easy program to let me do this simple task
available for use with Vista Home Premium? Thank You for any guidance.

Re: Multiple Session Data burn to DVD??

Yep brink that's how I do it also, just did it with a couple files.
Seems to work fine the only thing I don't get that you mention is after
I hit "eject" I don't get the popup msg. you describe. I do get some
disk activity though and then it ejects like it is finishing up. I can't
even read the darn finished product with win explorer it wants me to put
a disk in the drive, doesn't recognize it at all, not blank or as one
with data on it of any kind. Thanx for your input, I do appreciate it.
It's a new Gateway with 2 megs of ram E4610D SB, pretty nice rig
compared to my old one.

Yes, that's how I learned about clicking on "close session"

Re: Multiple Session Data burn to DVD??

I don't recall seeing theIcon in the tray at all. As far as autoplay
goes, it doesn't even come up, nothing recgnizes the dvd after the
session is closed and I eject it and put it back in. Although before I
do eject it the files all show as there, hit "close session" or "eject"
and when I put it in nothing sees it. Kinda odd. CDs are fine, I can do
DVDs as non multisession no problems.

Re: Multiple Session Data burn to DVD??

Autoplay is running and seems to be fine. Do you run more than one
instance of explorer, one with the dvd folder open and then one with the
folder with the files that you want to drag from to get copied to the disk?

Re: Multiple Session Data burn to DVD??

heh heh Yeah I have itunes installed but that wasn't the problem. I had
been using the same instance of explorer, dragging the files from the
source dir. to the dvd dir., that was my problem. Before I wrote you the
last question I tried with two explorers and all worked as it should.
Finally after a buncha coasters, hair pullin' and just general dinkin'
around all's well and I still love Vista. Thanx for all your help! Have
a heck of a good Sunday. My weekend is over, I work mids and start
tonight at 2145. I'm gonna get rid of iTunes I'm not crazy about it,
something else installed it IIRC.
