Why does my screen moves up or down

In any program I am using, but especially on the web. It is almost as if it
is refreshing and it shifts as it completing the refresh. If I am trying to
click on a topic, I select the wrong one and have to back out. It is
annoying, any ideas on how to resolve it?

Did you upgrade to Vista or get Vista preinstalled? If the former, you
need to get drivers for all your hardware. It sounds as though you don't
have the correct video drivers. Get drivers from:

1. The device mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM
computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

1. Read any documentation you got when you bought the computer.
2. If the computer is OEM, go to the OEM's website for your specific
model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers
anyway)
3. Download, install and run a free system inventory program like Belarc
Advisor. The older Aida32 is good for this, too.

http://www.aumha.org/free.htm - Aida32 (hosted on Jim Eshelman's site)

NOTE: I haven't tried either Belarc or Aida on a Vista machine so YMMV
there.

Re: Why does my screen moves up or down

I have run into this on a lot of computer web sites and news web sites.
There are banner ads at the top that collapse after a few seconds, and the
entire window contents shift up about one inch. Many times I have clicked on
something at the instant the ad was collapsing, causing me to click on
something other than what I had chosen.

I tend not to go back to these web sites often. They are a pain in the butt.

Thanks, but that's not an option. I am getting an online degree and it
happens on the school sites as well.

thanks

RE: Why does my screen moves up or down

I have received some feedback regarding web pages and news groups, but that
doesn't explain why it is happening in programs like word.

Re: Why does my screen moves up or down

Well, you did say "especially on the web", didn't you?

Make sure you have the latest video drivers. With a new operating system
what was current today may be replaced tomorrow.

Re: Why does my screen moves up or down

I don't believe I presented any options. I told you what was causing it when
I browse the web. Either the same is happening to you, or it isn't. But
there "is" no option to choose.

Re: Why does my screen moves up or down

Barking mad idea

I had these shaking windows on and off for about months - never did nail it
down. Then it went away, nothing for at least 4 months - until last week.
What I was doing when the shakes suddenly started was changing the batteries
in my cordless mouse. After a reboot no problem for last 7 days.

My point, could it be the mouse?

Guy.

Normally, "Shaking" is due to power around the monitor, it can also be due
to a bad cable or intermittent connection. So, did you move your monitor,
a radio, a light, etc... when you replaced your battery.

The mouse, unless it's really emitting STRONG signal (and that would mean
it's defective) is not going to impact the monitor.

I think that what the op was referring to is something I experience once in
a while. If you place the cursor in a scrollable window and then roll the
scroll wheel back and forth rapidly, that's the effect. Moving the scroll
wheel manually usually frees it from the shakes, as such, I suspect the
mouse drivers, Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000.

Re: Why does my screen moves up or down

hi, i had the same problem i.e the web pages as well as word document and all application moving up and down, initially i was not able to rectif it, i thought it may be due to mouse but recently my friend suggested me that it's due to Worm a type of virus and he asked me to uninstall and spyware and install the anti virus software and run the application, i installed kaspersky anti virus, the problem is rectified and the system is back to normal.
Suggest you to install antivirus and if still you find or have problems please email me at karthickusa******.com !!
