Auto Sleep and Screen turn off.

My computer will not go into sleep after the set amount of time i've set it
to. the screen turns off but that is all. Also, when i close my laptop the
screen stays on. i would really prefer that the screen turned off as to not
burn the monitor or anything. Any suggestions?

Make sure you've got the lastest Vista drivers for your graphics
card/chip.

Re: Auto Sleep and Screen turn off.

Some screen savers prevent sleep/hibernate.

My laptop is running XP Home Premium, setting for lid is in the power
options properties - Power buttons

My desktop is Vista Home Premium, doesn't have a 'lid' but a similar area is

Control panel
Hardware and sound
power options
system settings
has settings for 'buttons'
