| Vista automatically wakes up Hi! I have been having this problem and for the likes of me cannot figure it out. I put my computer into sleep mode every night before I go to bed. Sometimes its 10 sometimes 11 sometimes 12. My problem is, vista cannot stay put in sleep overnight. I wake up to find my computer on. I have been tracking the event log, looking for a reason for it to be waking up, but to no avail. I have noticed, however that it ALWAYS wakes up at 2:00 a.m. on the dot everytime. I have changed the times for defender, windows update, and have also tried disabling the network adaptors before I put it into sleep. The only thing shown after the event log is the volume shadow copy service, but this isnt until about 2:30 to 2:45....30 to 45 minutes after it wakes up. Any information will be of help thanks! (I have also tried multiple video drivers.) | Re: Vista automatically wakes up You should switch to Linux. Probably Mandriva. | RE: Vista automatically wakes up I can't tell you why, but if you go to the driver for the mouse and keyboard, and disable "Allow this device to wake computer", your problem will probably go away. I had the same issue, without touching the mouse or keyboard, but the issue went away with this fix. "a_running_pir8" wrote: > > Hi! | Re: Vista automatically wakes up Thanks for all the input. there is no wake-on-lan feature in the bios, and as for the mouse and keyboard, i disabled EVERYTHING i could find in the device manager that had "allow this device to bring the computer out of sleep." I know that finding solutions to these types of problems are difficult, but hopefully after a few replies a spark will jump in someones mind and I'll figure it out. Any more help would be appreciated thanks so much! (And for all you linux spammers out there, im running Fedora Core 6 on my laptop, so dont flame me :) but if you have input on how to fix the problem of it only giving me 13 minutes of battery time after its fully charged let me know, cause right now I can only run it on AC or it shuts off 2-3 mins after running on battery :) -- a_running_pir8 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ a_running_pir8's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=24834 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=736804 http://forums.techarena.in |
