| Windows Vista Business Edition - Sysem Restore I keep getting a "System Restore Failed" message everytime I try to restore to an earlier restore point. Is anyone else having problems with this feature and if so are there any known fixes? |

This wiped out all restore points but fixed the issue going forward. Does this no longer apply in Vista? -- Michael Solomon |

| Re: Windows Vista Business Edition - Sysem Restore Hi Michael I think it does still apply, although I haven't kept up with the SR issues on Vista. I usually just direct evryone to Berts website. :) -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "Michael Solomon" <user@#notme.com> wrote in message news:e7Ute5rhHHA.3452@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Ronnie Vernon MVP wrote: >> Go to the following website. >> >> System Restore in Windows Vista:: >> http://bertk.mvps.org/html/vista.html >> >> Bert has information and fixes for just about all known issues with >> System Restore in Vista. >> >> >> "Old Dog" <Old Dog@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:C5196BB8-595E-494F-A818-302EE14B5BD8@microsoft.com... >>> I keep getting a "System Restore Failed" message everytime I try to >>> restore to an earlier restore point. Today it's application such as *Norton* and others that interfere with the operation of System Restore. Rather than deleting all existing restore point right off, I suggest try running System Restore from Safe Mode. A lot of times this works without loosing restore points. :) Here are some troubleshooting steps to take when System Restore fails to restore: http://bertk.mvps.org/html/srfail.html "Restoration Incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored . . . " http://bertk.mvps.org/html/symantecdoc1.html It appears System Restore in Vista is effected by *Norton* application in the similar way it was in XP. The error message will differ thou.
