Resize Images (jpg,etc)

On XP, when in Explorer if I right clicked on a .jpg file I had the option
to resize very easily. I don't remember the program or where I got it or if
it will work on Vista Home Premium.

TIA

You probably mean ImageResizer.exe, one of XP's powertoys.
Unfortunately
this doesn't work with Vista.

Not quite the simplicity, but far more utility, and FREE.

You can double click on any image, that opens it in Photo Galley. From
there click on open, any any application listed there like the default
Paint from which you can do some crude editing as far as size. You can
also crop direcly from Photo Galley and other minor touch ups. If you
have other more powerful graphic application like Photoshop probably
faster to just open in that and browser files from within that program
directly.

As a work-around :-

In Windows Mail, there is a Resizer, so, if you send an image to yourself, you can choose your size - to the parameters available in XP.

Why you can have a Resizer in Windows Mail & not in Vista, don't ask me.

Re: Resize Images (jpg,etc)

You don't have to actually "send" them. Once you get to that point, you can
simply "Save Attachments".

Cheers, Dave

Re: Resize Images (jpg,etc)

I was very frustrated by the lack of this feature in Vista as well...
Especially with the inclusion of related tools in the Photo Gallery.
However I came across the program located here
http://www.vso-software.fr/products/image_resizer/ which is very similar to
the original PowerToy. Give it a go, it's freeware.

Vista and every Windows version prior has an image resizer/editior
it's called "Paint" yes it's very basic but it does resize images.

If you have Office 2007 you can use Microsoft Picture Manager to do
basic picture editing.

Hope this helps
