Re: Firefox constantly crashes on Vista

Is the Java Runtime Environment installed to your system? Which version, if
so? Is jpinscp.dll on your system? What file version, if so?

I see that the latest version should be available here--
http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_manual.jsp
, but I could be wrong, I don't see it as being noted as compatible with
Vista, and this is not my field of expertise. Firefox forums would probably
be a better initial reference for this type of crash.

RE: Firefox constantly crashes on Vista

Does anyone else have the problem of the screen jumping up and down when you
use Firefox on Vista?? It is probably the most annoying thing in the world
and I have no idea how to fix it.

I have a different problem with Firefox. When I go to:

http://www.jennycoverack.co.uk/

using IE7 I do in fact see Jenny Coverack's Home Page

But when I go to:

http://www.jennycoverack.co.uk/

using Firefox I see that address correctly in the address bar but the page I
see is headed:

Welkom bij De Roode Advies & Consultancy

and when I click on ITS Home page I get "page not found".

As Jenny's webmaster I find this disconcerting.

Doug

Re: Firefox constantly crashes on Vista

What version of Firefox? I just checked and it looks the same in IE 7 as in
Firefox 2.0.0.3 on Vista and Safari 2.0.4 (419.3) on OSX 10.4.9. One minor
error you might want to fix img.bord needs a unit of measurement on the
border.

FWIW, I've never experienced a crash of Firefox 2.x on Vista and rarely on
1.5+.

Is it crashing constantly, or once in a 24 hour period?

Can't really decipher this, but did a little Googleing and came up with:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=553689

That has something to do with Quicktime, which I've noticed causes my
firefox to crash often, solution, stop using quicktime til they fix it.

Can you maybe list some sites you were browsing when Firefox crashed? List
some of your system specs? I'm sure someone here can help you out, or just
google around, i'm sure something will come up.

Worse case scenario, use IE7, or see if the same sites cause IE7 to freak
out.

Good luck,
A.

IIRC, for me this turned out to be related to ThinkVantage Password Manager.
This won't apply if you aren't using a Thinkpad.

Re: Firefox constantly crashes on Vista

I'm also having the problem of firefox crashing constantly with vista. I
notice that the earlier posts are from '07, so obviously the problem is
not fixed.

I fill out crash reports and try windows solutions, etc, but so far
nothing works.

The only additional information I can add is that most of the crashes
occur when I click on a Google link (e.g. my Gmail account) or a Google
search link.

Perhaps firefox's security features conflict with Google, since Google
does have a number of sneaky snoops in its services.

Re: Firefox constantly crashes on Vista

I no longer have a problem with Firefox crashing. After windows updated
I would try Firefox to see if it had improved. It finally quit crashing,
so I'm not sure which update fixed the problem. I also checked programs
that Ihad recently installed in case they were causing conflicts with
Firefox.

Re: Firefox constantly crashes on Vista

If your Firefox keeps crashing, you might want to remove it from your
computer and use Internet Explorer. IE came with your computer and should
work well.
