Problem with Windows Photo Gallery

I'm running Vista Ultimate RTM on a high-end HP Workstation. When I user the
Slide Slow function in Windows Photo Gallery, my photos display, but they
flicker quickly (almost strobe-like). I've tried this feature with just a
couple of the supplied sample photos as well as my own, but I still get the
same flickery results.

Curiously, when I view the same photos through the slide show tool within
Vista Ultimate's Media Center application, the photos display perfectly.

Any ideas what might be causing this behaviour?

Thanks,

Simon

RE: Problem with Windows Photo Gallery

I just tried running the same app on a lower-spec machine, with a much more
basic graphics card (no Aero support) and the Slide Show function ran
perfectly, so I'm pretty sure it's a graphics card issue (my system has an
nVidia 256MB 7600GT card which is natively supported under Vista with WDDM
drivers.

Useless, isn't it? I've tried the Google equiv., the Adobe Elements
Album product and the native vista Photo Gallery, none match Cypics
for ease of use and customisability.

Re: Problem with Windows Photo Gallery

No ideas, but feel comforted that you're not alone.
My nVidia 7800 256MB is doing the same thing. All we can do is wait for
drivers, which hopefully will be out by the time Vista goes to mass market.
