Problem with playlist on the server (wsx files) and Fast Reverse

Hi,

I have a error when i try to play a playlist from the server. When i open a
wsx file like this.

<?wsx version = 1.0?>
<smil>
<seq>
<media src="\\astted1\streams\astlink_23487_0.wmv"
clipBegin="00:07:0.400" clipEnd="00:10:20.198">
<clientData title="23735" author="23312"/>
</media>
</seq>
</smil>

When i click on rewind, my wmp moves the seekbar to the position 00:07:0.400
+ currentPosition and it starts to rewind from currentPosition.

Anyone can help me ?

Thank.

Media player on the users computer has no idea about the content of
that playlist - it's used purely by the media server. So I'm not clear
how to replicate your problem, or you didn't describe it clearly.

The expected behaviour though, is that the start time of the video,
zero seconds from the media player viewpoint, happens to be (as
specified above) 7 minutes, 0.4 seconds from the start of the pysical
file stored on \\astted1 file share.

If you intend the clip to begin from the start of the file, remove the
clipBegin attribute from the playlist.

The media server will deliver the file from the file share.

The media player *does not* connect to \\assted1 at all, since all the
data is routed through the media server before it goes to the player.

Re: Problem with playlist on the server (wsx files) and Fast Reve

hi,

i'm going to try to explain my situation better.

I have a long video and i would like to play piece of video. This piece
starts at the position 00:07:0.400 and ends at 00:10:20.198. Windows media
player works well, until i click on Rewind button. When i click on rewind
the seekbar goes to the position currentPosition plus clipBegin (in this case
currentPosition + 00:07:0.400) and then wmp starts to rewind.

Here you are an example.

http://www1.tedial.com/Player/example.wsx

<?wsx version = 1.0?>
<smil>
<seq>
<media src="C:\wmpub\WMRoot\Player\astlink_24513_0.wmv"
clipBegin="00:07:0.400" clipEnd="00:20:20.198">
<clientData title="15191" author="15350"/>
</media>
</seq>
</smil>

Take a look on the seekbar after press rewind button.

Thanks for you colaboration.

Best regards.
