| WMP11 "Apply Media Information Changes" doesn't work on some files I just replaced my defective C: drive and had some issues with ratings, etc. getting lost. I managed to get the ratings back by reinstalling WMP11. But in the process I noticed that some of the ratings are not actually stored in the individual files. I had "Maintain my star ratings as global ratings in files" checked, and several times I've run the "Apply Media Information Changes", but some files just don't get updated. I suspect these may be files imported/ripped back when I had a previous WMP version. Maybe WMP11 doesn't see that information as a "change" and therefore doesn't save it. I tried to uncheck and recheck "Maintain..." but then I get a warning that the file ratings will overwrite my library ratings, which I definetly don't want to happen until the files are properly updated. So now I'm unfortunately running with this important option unchecked. I've seen reference in this newsgroup to some kind of plug in for applying ratings to files, but the only thing I found on the plug in site was for WMP9 and didn't look trustworthy. Does anyone know how I can get my library ratings and other info stored in my files? |

| RE: WMP11 "Apply Media Information Changes" doesn't work on some files If you have not stored your ratings in the files, checking the box to do so will give you the prompt that you described but it will not overwrite what is in your library with empty ratings. To be completely safe, use my metadata backup program first and you can restore the ratings to the library database if they are lost: http://www.dalepreston.com/Blog/2007...ta-backup.html Dale -- Dale Preston MCAD C# MCSE, MCDBA "toml" wrote: > I just replaced my defective C: drive and had some issues with ratings, etc. > getting lost.
