| RE: Updating My Music from Desktop to Laptop As long as you haven't changed any folder or file names or metadata that is stored in the library, it will be fine. The easiest thing is just to copy the files and don't worry about the metadata in your files. If you don't want to overwrite your old metadata, you can use my MetaData backup program at http://www.dalepreston.com/Blog/2007...ta-backup.html to backup your laptop metadata, copy over your media files from the desktop, and then restore the metadata backup on your laptop again. This will work with MP3 or WMA files. If your files are MP3, you might also want to consider backing up your ID3 tags on your laptop using my ID3 Tag Backup program at http://www.dalepreston.com/Blog/2007...-id3-tags.html and then moving the files from your desktop to your laptop and then restoring your ID3 tag backups.
