I'm using Windows XP 64 bit and the deskband or mini-mode of Windows
Media Player version 10 and now version 11 (I upgraded to try to fix
this) is not available. It's not even an option in the task bar's
"Toolbars" menu.

Here are my installed deskbands:

%SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\browseui.dll

{0A4286EA-E355-44FB-8086-AF3DF7645BD9}

Also, I installed the 64bit version of Media Player 11, why does it
show up under "Program Files (x86)" rather than just "Program Files"
???


Oh, and I already tried the re-register the wmpband.dll trick - no
luck. Does this not work on 64 bit systems?

It's supposed to go in Program Files (x86) as it's a 32bit version of WMP.

I don't believe(?) that the deskband could work on XP, since there's no
64bit version of WMP/WMPBand for XP to run in the 64bit shell.

Thanks for the post, zachd, but I wasn't mistaken in my original
message. I am using the 64 bit version of WMP which is available from
this link:
