| HELP! How stream from Windows 2000 Server to Media Player 11 I see that the new media player (11) no longer plays the media that we're streaming from our Windows 2000 server. I've read all the messages about how I have to change it to stream on HTTP, which I've done - and it still isn't working. First of all, here's a URL that works on older players: http://www.mbtmag.com/podcast/sapPodcast0307.asx This asx file contains the following: <ASX VERSION="3.0"> <TITLE></TITLE> <ENTRY> <TITLE></TITLE> <REF HREF="mms://209.73.224.82/sapPodcast0307.wma" /> </ENTRY> </ASX> I've tried creating a couple other versions of this ASX, and neither of them are working: http://www.mbtmag.com/podcast/test1.asx http://www.mbtmag.com/podcast/test2.asx These files contain: RSTP://209.73.224.82/sapPodcast0307.wma (test1.asx) HTTP://209.73.224.82/sapPodcast0307.wma (test2.asx) Neither of these seem to work. I have also modified the setting of Windows Media Services 4 so that "Enable HTTP streaming for Windows Media Unicast service" is checked. Please let me know how I can get this working (without upgrading to Windows Server 2003). |

| Re: HELP! How stream from Windows 2000 Server to Media Player 11 You sure HTTP is enabled? Try accessing that in mplayer2.exe with everything but HTTP turned off in WMP6's network options: it doesn't work. Once HTTP is turned on and working on the server-side, it'll work in WMP6 in that scenario and WMP11 generally. Also, the sample clip has "Poddcast" in the clip title. Not important, but I thought worth an FYI. =) -- Speaking for myself only. See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
