Autosave "last played" or playlist?

Thanks in advance for any comments and help.

I remembered in the previous versions of WMP, when you quit WMPplayer (not
minimize, but exit completely) and then restart again, the files (the
playlist) previously played will be shown in the Now Playing list, no matter
if they are in your Music Library or not. Yet somehow that function seems to
be gone in WMP11? Is there a checkbox somewhere in WMP settings that I can
change this? Sometimes when I am playing a list of files that I randomly put
up, I would accidently clicked on the "X" in the top right corner of the WMP
window and closed the player. When I reopen the player again, the "Now
Playing" list is empty, everything is gone, and I have to put the WHOLE thing
together again!? Is there some way that I could revert this function? Or
should I just downgrade back to WMP10 or lower? Thank you very much

Re: Autosave "last played" or playlist?

Windows Media Player 11 remembers what you were playing last; the Windows
Media Player product team simply forgot to, or chose not to, show you that
it remembers. To see what you played last, just wait until WMP is fully
opened and then press the Play button. Switch to the Now Playing list and
presto, the list of what you were playing magically appears.

Of course, there is one catch. You do have to have Tools->Privacy->Save
file and URL history in the player enabled. Otherwise, clicking Play as
described above will cause Windows Media Player to generate a new random
playlist.

Just press "Play" on restart and voila.
