| frustration with media 11 and total time in playlists Posting this is the faint hope that someone in microsoft media will realise how annoying the change in media 11 is where a playlist no longer gives a running total in time of the tracks. I've tried highlighting a song ans pressing ctl + A which totals the tracks for about 5 sec but not the time any ideas? - microsoft please change this back to how version 10 used to do it! |

Then in the place in the upper right that is normally reserved for selling you the songs you already own, you should see the time there. > > any ideas? - microsoft please change this back to how version 10 used to > do it! This is an often complained about problem with Windows Media Player 11. Unfortunately, this newsgroup is not monitored by anyone from Microsoft in any official capacity and the Windows Media Player product team offers no reasonable mechanism by which their customers can make suggestions. You could always call product support but you risk a charge from 35 dollars up to hundreds of dolllars for having troubled Microsoft with your ideas. Dale |

| Re: frustration with media 11 and total time in playlists The right people were properly yelled at. The right people to be yelled at also had a lot of breathtaking statistics pointing out that the player was pretty overwhelming and confusing previously. Scaling it back to Minimal is painful... it's a road forward, though. I would heartily encourage anybody actually interested in this kind of thing to take usability tests when you see those offered. Y'all are seriously outnumbered by the Easily Confused, and you and I both like features like this, so ... make sure you're well represented. =\ -- Speaking for myself only. What class of animal species did you use for these usability tests that were not able to listen to music and chew gum ....er I mean listen to music and read at the same time? Chimpanzees or lab rats? Since the right people have been yelled at, when can we expect a patch to fix this? Dale |

As is visibly evident, it's an argument that was lost this go-round, sorry. Get it on Neil's Top Five Concerns list - that'll help some. I'll still track it and fight for it in the venues available. <3 -Z -- Speaking for myself only. See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. | RE: frustration with media 11 and total time in playlists I'm going back to WMP 10. I'm more than a bit peeved at the amount of time I spent trying to find and turn this feature "on" in 11, only to discover here that it does not exist. This is the last time I accept a MS "upgraded" program.
