| Recognizing and playing CD WIndows Media 11 I can't seem to get the player to play and burn CD's THe only way I sometimes can get this to work is to toggle the on off codec check and shut down and re start WM11. When I use WM10 it works fine as well as otehr players and rippers that are installed on my computer (Sonic). They all work fine but I want to play and burn with WM11. thanks |

| Re: Recognizing and playing CD WIndows Media 11 How do I tell if it is installed/turned on. Lately I also have been able to get a RW disk burned on WM11 but it never burns all the tracks I set up even though there is enough space on the disk. When I try to burn with the Sonic player I get a "mediahub" message indicating some kind of error. BTW I am using Sony CD-R disks (brand new). An issue that may be adding to the problem is I had installed the Zune player and then uninstalled it as I liked WM11 better. Could there be some "crud" in my registry that is affecting WM? I have uninstalled WM11 and 10 a number of times to test and try and fix this on my own. Thanks for getting back to me, Steve Thanks for geting back to me "zachd [MSFT]" wrote: > > Is Sonic Drive letter Access (DLA) installed/turned on... ? > http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#xpcdburn > > -- > Speaking for myself only. > See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. > This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. > -- > > "Steve" <Steve@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:AC900FD7-BEDD-474D-ADB5-721C1E01D48F@microsoft.com... > >I can't seem to get the player to play and burn CD's THe only way I > > sometimes can get this to work is to toggle the on off codec check and > > shut > > down and re start WM11. | Re: Recognizing and playing CD WIndows Media 11 If it can burn at all, DLA is probably not turned on. In that case- http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#xpcdburn may help. No, Zune shouldn't have affected WMP. Since CD-burning isn't WMP code, it's unlikely that this has anything to do with WMP or Zune, but rather is a problem in IMAPI. -- Speaking for myself only.
