Why do I get a dysfunctional Media player 11. 10 was grand it recognized CD
and no trouble while Media player 11 does not. It is crap.I thought Windows
was a professional organization but it can not get one player right. 10 just
recognized tracks by itself 11 does not recognize any track even though I ask
it to.

What exactly do you mean with 'recognizing'? This term is way to vague
for us to provide any meaningful help. Also, aren't you being a bit too
harsh just because a single thing doesn't work as expected, while there
may be a very simple fix?
