Windows XP Media Player 11 uPnP issue

I cannot get my windows media player on XP to network with the rest of my
media players (Vista WMP11, and XBMC). iTunes networks with all other
computers beautifully.

My vista computer networks beatufiully. XBMC shows up in WMP and iTunes
works beautifully for networking.

The problem seems to be centralized around DLNA on this one computer UPnP
service is installed on the computer. UPnP is running (along with another
service which the microsoft site told me to enable) Windows service IPSEC
services are not started. My router shows up on the computer. Windows
media player is set to share media. It just won't show up on the other
computer, and the other computer won't show up on it.

I've got no firewalls set up. I just upgraded my router from a WRT54G to a
WRT320N as a part of troubleshooting. UPnP is enabled on the router. It
just seems that this computer cannot connnect to others and it does not show
up on the network as being an available DLNA device.

RE: Windows XP Media Player 11 uPnP issue

Bump.

I really could use some help with this. Orb and XBMC show up as a media
server and a renderer. I cannot get windows media player 11 to show up as a
media server or renderer on this computer. I really could use some help
with this as this XP computer is where the bulk of my media is
stored/generated.

RE: Windows XP Media Player 11 uPnP issue

I'm no expert but check for sharing in network properties and if not the
problem try looking at the secuirty settings for network in local security
settings. all so WMP has an option in it's own settings for Sharing, and same
with IE Options, advanced.
