how to add mp3 files to cd that already has mp3 on it/win 11

Hi,
Using Windows Media 11 in XP SP3, after I burn a few mp3's
on a cd, then want to add some mp3s later [lots of space left
on the CD] I am having trouble getting this to work. Is this a bug
or just a secret menu I cant find. It spits out the CD and says
'insert a writable disk', when I drag another file into the 'burn
window'.

thx

I think media player (or rather the underlying IMAPI CD burning
service in XP) finalises the CD after its written the tracks.

There's no way I know of to add more tracks to a finalised disk

Possibly a CD-RW (rewritable) disk might behave differently but it
could also require erasing the disk and re-burning all the tracks
again. CD blanks are so cheap I'd not worry too much about it.

I thought a 'data disk' did not get finalized though. For example I
used
to use Roxio Easy CD and burn a few mp3s on a disk, then just pop
it in and add to it until it was full, no prob. But with [i cant
install
roxio on XP it wont take it] Media Player11 there seems to be a
problem. Anyway I might just get Nero and use that, thx for the input,
