| Re: Help Please! Recording from mic? Sound recorder will only record up to 60 seconds. If that won't do it, google for sound recorders because there is no other built-in functionality. -- Dale Preston MCAD C# MCSE, MCDBA "Amanda" wrote: > I just want to record my child singing Jingle Bells and e-mail it to someone. > > Possible? > > "Michael Walraven" wrote: > > > Start > > All Programs > > Accessories > > Sound recorder > > > > very minimal functionality > > > > Michael > > > > "Amanda" <Amanda@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > > news:836D0ACB-BF04-4922-A7E2-57AB62AE4EF6@microsoft.com... > > > Is there any way in wondows for me to record from a microphone? | Re: Help Please! Recording from mic? Kind of true. Recorder will extend a file by 60 seconds at a time. If you start a new file, click on record than it will go for 60 seconds. If you leave the cursor at for right and click on record again it will record an additional 60 seconds. If you create a five minute file this way and then move the curor to the far left and hit record again it will record for the full 5 minutes. You can also 'edit' a *.wav file that has the correct length to start. Also a kludge. Also the default recording mode is terrible. User needs to select a higher quality mode to get decent sound (microphone would probably be good for this app. File - Properties Convert and select Microphone). before making the recording. It is really lame but I think it is the only thing in Windows XP itself. If OP is using Windows live mesenger I think there is a record and send function in that. | Re: Help Please! Recording from mic? But that won't hardly work for the OP's purpose of recording her child singing Jingle Bells. If you're feeling especially adventurous, you could use PhotoStory once you've recorded the MP3, and combine moving + still pictures with the MP3 track. Just don't make your kid sit in front of the PC singing while you do your first photostory, or we'll have to call the agencies ;-) http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...irststory.mspx HTH Cheers - Neil ------------------------------------------------ Digital Media MVP : 2004-2006 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/mvpfaqs |
