| Realtek AC'97 audio I got the following installation problem: I have just installed and correctly updated via internet (xp2 etc.) a brand new XP home edition in place of a previous XP professional. Motherboard: ASRock K7NF-RAID, Realteck AC'97 audio chip integrated in the motherboard. Previously - with XP professional - Realtek AC'97 audio was perfectly working. Now I am not able to install Realtek AC'97 audio. I tried all possible drivers starting from the ASrock-CRealteck AC'97 CD to several I downloaded from ASrock and other sites. All the times I got the following msg: It is impossible to load a driver for this hardware. Driver may be corrupted or not available. (code error 39). ( in Italian: Impossibile caricare il driver di periferica per questo hardware. Il driver potrebbe essere danneggiato o mancante. (Codice 39). Per avviare la Risoluzione dei problemi, scegliere Risoluzione problemi.) TKS for any help gianola |

Error is persisting. Today I purchased a brand new Audigy Sound Blaster Card. Before installing the Audigy I have disabled -in the BIOS- the Realteck AC'97 Audio. Problem is just the same and refer to the error code 39 (I do not know what it means). Apparently the problem is well known, but the solution is not clear at all. Some forum are reporting the same problem (error code 39) sometime referred to CD/DVD or Sound Cards. Problem seem to be in the register HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l upper filter and lower filter By the way I was unable to identify upper and lower filter In the following site: http://groups.google.fr/group/micros...be83a?lnk=raot I found a possible solution, so I tried the script I found in the following site: http://dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_cd_dvd_fix.htm Unfortunately it did no work. I am very frustrated and sad Any other suggestion? TKS Gianola |

It will tell you if your new audio card is being recognized and if the RealTek audio chip is disabled. I've been using Everest and its predecessor Aida32 for years. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181 Joe |
