Change Public Folder Location

I am trying to build a multimedia server with Vista Ultimate. The PC has a
single hard drive (C drive) that has the OS installed. It also has 4 hard
drives in a RAID 5 (D drive) that I want to use for all the shared media.
What and how is the best way to do this? Move the Public folder and change
the associations? If so, how? Or is there a better way?
