Windows Media Player won't play midi files

I have a new Dell desktop and Vista Home Premium. When I try to play
a web midi file, I get an error message that it can't find the file.
My ancient desktop plays them with no problem (Windows 98). Can't
find a helpful answer anywhere. Any help? I'm not an expert.
