| Know your codecs! Is there a program that can read WMV / WMP files to know exactly which codec was used to build it? I know this sounds crazy but nothing has been able to tell me and a sneaky MPG codec got into the video compression side of editing and now clients can no longer read WMV's without a 3rd party add-on! Ouch! I tried VideoInspector which tells me all the video codecs on the system but does not support reading WMP / WMV files!? Thoughts? -- MultiMedia Is Good |

I believe the ASF specification document indicates which structures within the ASF file contain the codec identifier : http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...t/asfspec.aspx The best place to ask for programmatic advice is the newsgroup microsoft.public.windowsmedia.sdk HTH Cheers - Neil ------------------------------------------------ Digital Media MVP : 2004-2007 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/mvpfaqs |
