how to make media center NOT the default for DVDs?

Hello, I am running Windows XP Professional and whenever I put a DVD in the
drive, Media Center starts up automatically. I prefer to use a different
viewer for DVDs. How can I change this? I went to "Set Program Access and
Defaults" from the Start menu and selected a different default media player
and I even unchecked all the "enable access to this program" boxes next to
Media Center DVD, Music, etc. However, media center still starts every time I
put in a DVD. I never use media center so I also tried to uninstall it, but
it does not appear in the add/remove programs list and I couldn't find any
way to uninstall it from within media center itself.

Can anyone please tell me how to either uninstall media center or get it to
not start every time I put a DVD in? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

RE: how to make media center NOT the default for DVDs?

Open my computer. Right click on your DVD Drive come to properties. Come to
next tab i.e. Autoplay. Under the appropriate content type that may be video
files or DVD video select "Take No Action". You might have selected View by
Media Center for the very first time when you inserted any dvd. Reply for any
futher query. Thanks.
