I would like to play a single song at a time from a play list, but cannot
find a setting to let me do this. The next song in the list plays as soon
as the first one is finished. Most mp3 players can control this setting. I
would think media player would as well.

By default when you double click on a song in library it means "play all" but
to play a single song right click on it and click "play" then only single
song will play. To add songs further in this list right click on the song to
add and click "Add to now playing". But do all this from library, not from
the now playing pane.
