When I try to stream a video clip from a website using Internet Explorer, I
get the page saying "Internet Explorer cannot open this website". I am able
to download to my desktop and then view.

The manufacturer (HP) has not been able to help, nor is my ISP.

Does antone have a solution?

If you have not fixed your problem yet here is the solution, I too had the same problem.

In Internet Explorer 7
1. Select Tools
2. Select Internet Options
3. Select Programs
4. Select Set Programs in the bottom right
5. In the next window that opens up select Set program access and computer defaults
6. In this window select Microsoft Windows and Ok or expand the Custom and select Windows Media Player
7. Click Ok.

Note this usually happens when you download and install another media viewer such as DivX or VTC viewer.

Shorter route with Vista is

1. Click on Start
2. Click on Default Programs
3. In the next window that opens up select Set program access and computer defaults
6. In this window select Microsoft Windows and Ok or expand the Custom and select Windows Media Player
7. Click Ok.

If all of this does not work try turning off your popup blocker(s)
