"Find Album Info" missing in Windows Media Player 11 WMP

Hi all - 2 computers, one XP and the other MCE 2005.

On XP, I can right-click and "Find album info" for my music files in WMP11

On MCE 2005, I have no option to say that. I've tried changing the view,
but matching it with the XP computer, it has that option and mine does not.
Privacy and otherwise settings are exactly the same.

What's going on?

Are the tracks local to the system you're trying to use Find Album Info on?

"find album info" missing

I have the same problem. I am accessing the files on my laptop (running XP Pro), but the music library is stored on a NAS that is attached to my LAN; does that have anything to do with it? Before I set up the NAS I had all the music files stored on a second computer running XP Pro (acting as a server of sorts), but I always had the "find album info" option on my laptop. Help?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938232/en-us
, which fixes:
===
Symptom 1
On the Library tab, the Find Album Info command is unavailable for files
that are stored on network drives or on Universal Naming Convention (UNC)
shares. This problem occurs on a computer that is running Windows Vista or
Microsoft Windows XP.
===
sounds like what you want.

follow-up -- found work-around

Ok, I stumbled upon a work-around of sorts:

I wanted to share my media library w/ my Xbox 360 and was thus forced to download Microsoft's "Zune" software, which -- as it turns out -- is basically just Media Player in a different skin (as far as I can tell, anyway). BUT, the great thing is that the "Find Album Info" option is back, even for remotely stored music on my NAS. I guess I just may scrap WMP and use Zune instead. . . .
