Anyone got Windows 7 running ok on Dell Inspiron 6000?

As the title, I am considering trying Windows 7 on my Dell Inspiron 6000
(2gb ram) 250gb hdd.
Any resource available to get the correct drivers or equivalent ones that
work?

I am currently running windows vista on it without a problem.
Thanks
Richard

I don't have the link handy, but you should run the Windows 7 Upgrade
Advisor and see what it says.

I wouldn't trust that if I were you. It usually lies.
What you want is to hear from someone who has successfully installed Windows
7 on that machine.

Good luck
Steve

An understatement, Steve. I ran it several times and every time it told
me that my HD controller wouldn't work with W7--AND that W7 would work
OK on my machine. I've got problems with W7, but not because of the HD
controller.

In lieu of anyone who has installed it on an Inspiron 6000, that may be his
best bet. W7UA doesn't lie (a program can't lie :-) ).
I have found on most machines that I have used it, the results may not be
100% accurate, but it does give a good idea of what you have
installed/attached that may have a problem with an upgrade. I found that
there were more programs and hardware listed as "marginally" or "not
compatible" that worked fine than any that were listed as OK that didn't.
Since Vista is running fine on it without a problem, there probably won't be
any problems after the upgrade. That's no guarantee; just my opinion based
on the Vista PC's I've upgraded.

Yes. For any drivers not automagically detected, you can use Vista ones.
