Bought mine for the same in Costco, so it might be a superstore price.

All I need now is to get a working serial number. :(((

Re: Cheapest W7?

I pre-ordered paid £63 at Amazon.co. uk.

You could find a friendly student, they get it a lot cheaper, around £30 :

And why wasn't a Product key (which I presume you mean by "serial number")
found inside the case?

It was, but seems to bear little relation to the stuff on the disk at
insertion time in the install process.

Time for *meaningful* conversations with MS tomorrow.

I don't seem to be alone by google comments.

I bought Windows Vista upgrade to Windows 7 from Comet for £58.95.

The box comes with DVDs for both 32 and 64 bit systems.

If you didn't get a serial number you got cheated out of your money. What's
the point in owni ng an OS without a sign of ownership. Take it back.

And what do you mean by that?
If you open the plastic case, remove the little booklet on the left hand
side, the Product key should be on a yellow sticker attached to the back of
the front cover...

That's the front cover of the plastic case, not the front cover of the
booklet...

We bought our Pro and Home versions on pre-order, so cheap enough. Now we
need another copy I have coerced my oldest daughters flatmate into ordering
me one on his ac.uk address. Not like he needs/wants it anyway, he's got an
iMac :-) So £30 copy here we come - and thanks for the suggestion!
(Bit elitist that you have to be a uni student though - don't high school
students count?)
