media player glitch in win 7

Anybody else had this?

Running the setup wizard for media player in win7 home premium. Get to the
"select file types you want media player to play" box and everything is
selected. But all the ticked selection boxes are greyed out and won't let
me uncheck any.

MS bullying or am I missing something?

There doesn't appear to be any way to alter file-type associations in
Windows Media Player 12.
You can change the default programs for individual file types here:
Control Panel > Programs > Make a file type always open in a specific program.
