| Internal SD card reader -- access is denied! I have vista clean installed. Recently I put a fine 1G SD card into the internal card reader on my ACER TM370 laptop. Vista recognized it, installed drivers, and than I saw a new "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" -- "RICOH SD/MMC Controller" in the Device Manager, a new removable disk icon appear in "My Computer", everything seems all right. But when I open it by clicking icon, a pop window told me "Access is denied". Its property is also abnormal -- 0bytes free. Could u give me possible solutions? It was just quite strange because Vista only add in device manager a new "IDE controller" but no new "Disk drivers". We know Vista would do it for a usb flash driver! Thanks u. |

| Re: Internal SD card reader -- access is denied! Hi i also had this problem for ages. After much persistence, i finally managed to get around it. I had to turn off "User Access Control" from the Control Panel (you know that annoying thing that keeps asking you to confirm if you want to do stuff that requires elevated privileges?). You need to go to Control Panel-->User Accounts and then its in here somewhere (can't remember). You will need to reboot after making the change. -- trendyman ------------------------------------------------------------------------ trendyman's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=25824 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=719938 http://forums.techarena.in |
