Re: No audio output device

i have a gateway notebook and i am having the same problem red x over
speaker and says " no audio output device is installed. i can see it in the
device manger sigmatel i tried to update driver and vista say you are usiong
the most current driver something like that anyone else have an idea that
can get me sound. ty

Your only real option is to wait for Gateway to write drivers.
If the laptop is more than a year out of production, it is unlikely you will
ever see any sound drivers.
