Contact your MOBO manufacturer to find out why you can not get into your
BIOS settings to change from installed graphics to your PCI graphics card.
I suggest you use e-mail to contact them instead of phone since they have
to think before they respond.

Hi, Doug.

What kind of keyboard are you using?

Many keyboards are not recognized by the computer hardware - including the
motherboard - until their drivers are loaded. There are many variations on
this theme, including USB and Bluetooth keyboards. Both of those have given
me problems at different times.

See if you can find a good old-fashioned corded PS/2 keyboard and plug it
directly into the PS/2 port on the mobo. If that gets you into your BIOS,
look for settings that will allow the mobo to recognize the keyboard (and
mouse) before the operating system starts to load. My experience is limited
since I have just one computer, so I only get to see a new mobo every 3-4
years, and I've never had an ASUS board. You may have to study that mobo
manual carefully, and log onto the ASUS web page for more documentation.

My mobo is from EPoX, which has faded away since I got the board 3 years
ago. But some of the best support I found was from other EPoX users in
Usenet newsgroups. There are several Usenet newsgroups with "mainboard" and
"asus" in their names. There is even one called
asus.support.english.mainboard ! You should be able to find some other ASUS
users there, many of whom will be true gurus.

I contacted them and was told to clear Cmos.This after I emailed them and
told them, I cleared Cmos and removed battery!!

Here is how I got in. I am hooked up to the monitor using DMI Cable. My
laptop is threw VGA. I was thinking and trying everything for almost 2 days.
The Manufacturer of the Mobo got back to me and tried to help me fix the
problem. I was told by them to send it back for a replacement it is dead??
Here is what solved the problem, I removed the VGA cable from the laptop.
Disconnected DMI from Motherboard and hooked up the VGA BAM!!!!it booted.
Apparently the Boot Chip can only recognize VGA.It makes sense when you
think of it.
Hopefully if this ever happens to someone else, they can find the fix.

I had onboard Video ATI 4200.I did not disable it, I installed the new
drivers and ATI Catalyst.Sutdown installed the new video card.Put the DMI
cable on the video card and it runs fine.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it was a couple more hours I would of sent back the MoBO and the video
card.

Hi R.C.,
Thanks for the Congrads. I felt pretty Dam Good after finding the problem.
I spoke to Asus ,Sapphires. and Asus for ATI Catalyst Program. None of
their Techies could figure it out. They all said Board or Bios chip is
corrupt or Dead.
All it took was 2 days with no sleep.
