Re: Need video drivers for Intel 810/810e/815/815e series video card

I did experience the same problem, basic graphics with Vista on this old
platform.
The solution to the problem of the BSOD screen after installing the
available (version 6.7 or older) XP driver for the 82810E graphics
controller is indeed the use of the IEGD 5.1 utility, which can be
dowloaded from the Intel site.
When dowloaded, the setup.exe will not run without fault, because the
default ssigd.inf file is not complete and some needed files are
missing.
You have to replace the ssigd.inf file of the IEGD utility, by the
renamed .inf file of Intel (version 6.7 in zip format dowloaded) and
merge the existing files of the 6.7 to be able to run the utilility
succesfull, which creates 2 compatible driver options in the Windows
install screen: '810E embedded graphics controller" version 4.1 and
5.1.
After manual restart, install a driver with the Windows device
management, clicking the option for compatible drivers; they appear
beside the standard VGA (unwanted) option and you can choose and
install.
After restart no BSOD but a 600x800 screen appears which can be
configured in the normal procedure to other more suitable
configurations.

Maybe the above procedure can be simplified to; not changing the
standard ssigd.inf of the IEGD utility, simply run it (with ending in
error) and install manually the created compatible "810E embedded
graphics controller", (or other driver up to 945GM depending on your
motherboard), after restart, in Windows Vista or Windows 7 Device
Management.

Wish you luck with these procedures.
