| Re: Monitor goes to sleep Sounds like a problem with the new monitor. It possibility has an internal overheating problem. What resolution are you sending to it over what interface? What is the make and model of the monitor? Have you tried contacting the monitor manufacturers support staff? | Re: Monitor goes to sleep I was thinking that the monitor dropped the connection with the PC's graphics due to a problem such as overheating and the graphics card does not try again to talk to the monitor until the PC was restarted. Were you also outputting 1600x900 to your old monitor? If you were outputting a lower resolution to you older monitor then your thought that your graphics card be overheating and then dropping off line due to using too much power from your power supply. | Re: Monitor goes to sleep That's for sure. What is the make and model of graphics card that you are using? I had an ATI card several years ago that use to freeze up sometimes on heavy load and I had to actually unplug my computer sometimes in order for it sync back up with my monitor on a reboot. You must be referring to the PSU in the computer, which has no bearing on the monitor at all. |
