Updateing bios

Hi Guys
My soninlaw has a ECS NF650iSLIT motherboard. He want me to help him update
the bios, he keeps getting a message on windows 7 that he should update it .
He does have a couple problems there . Blue screen every so often.
But does any one out there know if that board has a jumper that we would
have to change to flash the bios ?
In reading about this in the manual it says IF the board has one but don't
spicificaly say it does
Anyone help me out here ?
Thanks

Carl, you need to be very familiar with computers to attempt this. Check
online for the mobo manual and read it to see if there is such a jumper.
You can download the manual here:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?detailid=733&CategoryID=1&DetailName=Manual&MenuID=44&LanID=9
Just copy the link to your browser address bar and make sure there are no
breaks in the string.

You can also navigate to the ECS hompage at
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Index.aspx?MenuID=0&LanID=9 and enter the
mobo model number
or Google on "ecs.com.tw" to get there.

Flashing the BIOS can render a computer inoperable if not done correctly so
consider having a shop do it for you if you have any doubts about doing it
yourself.

Carl

You are not familiar with doing this(just by reading your post) Bring it to a
reputable shop and not a big store one like Office Depot or Wallmart but to a
computer shop that only specializes with computers and let them do it for you.
One mistake here and you are up the proverbial creek as they say

Thanks for the answers guys , but that don't really answer my question ,
(does it have a jumper to change before we can flash the bios)
And this is not the first time I have flashed a bios .

Re: Updateing bios

Get and read the manual from
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?detailid=733&DetailName=Manual&DetailDesc=NF650iSLIT-A%28V1.0%29&CategoryID=1&MenuID=73&LanID=0

Thw jumper is clearly shown and explained on pages 4, 5 and 9. The
procedure explained on page 50 is a general one for all motherboards.

Re: Updateing bios

Hey Guys
Thanks for all the info , we figured out it was not a bios issue but a
memory issue .
All up and running for now .
Thanks again

I answered your question exactly, Carl. Download the manual and read it to
see if there is such a jumper. That's the only way any of us could know.
