| Re: CD/DVD doesn't read discs serenity1dee Hi Go to start/control panel/device manager. Do you have a yellow exclamation mark on the dvd/cd-rom drive? If so, right click your dvd drive and then click "update driver software" and let windows search for a driver. If this fails, the only other suggestion I have is to try a system restore back to a point when the drive was ok. -- karnyks22 Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

| Re: CD/DVD doesn't read discs Hi, a) Try a lens cleaner disk, it may simply be clogged. If this fails but the drive appears to operate normally otherwise, it is likely that it needs to be replaced. b) Do you see the drive listed in Windows Explorer? If it's not listed and you have not made any changes, follow the steps here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 c) Is the drive enumerated in the system BIOS? If not, a connection may have come loose or the drive has failed, necessitating replacement. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org Vote for my shoe: http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "serenity1dee" <serenity1dee.3yslg3@no-mx.forums.vistaheads.com> wrote in message news:serenity1dee.3yslg3@no-mx.forums.vistaheads.com... > > My CD/DVD drive won't read any discs i put in it. > > > -- > serenity1dee > Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com > |
