| USB Device Not Recognized Hey guys.. I'm having a problem.. I have 4 USB ports and windows doesn't read any of them. Anytime something is plugged in, i get the "USB Device Not Recognized" error. However, when I plug my phone via USB, my laptop charges my phone, but doesn't read it. I've tried everything.. updating the bios, delete infcache.1, I tried soldering the usb ports again, I've tried all of that. I've searched the web and I can't find any solutions.. I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium on a Toshiba Satellite A135-S2376. Also, none of the posts on here have helped me. Can someone shed some light on my problem? -- Vendetta56 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Vendetta56's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/128987.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-hardware-devices/1237839.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

| Re: USB Device Not Recognized I and many others have experienced corruption of the basic USB drivers following OS updates or service packs. If uninstalling the USB drivers in Control Panel and then rebooting does not solve your problem then something has failed on the laptop motherboard. If the machine is out of warranty it is probably a wiser use of money to purchase a new laptop than to try and have it repaired. |

| Re: USB Device Not Recognized This worked on me after installing all updates including SP2. Unplug/remove all devices from their ports (usb, etc.), shutdown your laptop, pull out the battery and then hold down the power button for 1 minute. Then replace the battery, turn on the laptop and plug back in devices in reverse order. It worked for me great without me having to reinstall the logitech drivers for my V220 mouse. Even though I am a 12 yr technician and A+, this really threw me for a loop! Hope this works for you! -- shabin Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

| Re: USB Device Not Recognized You can go to manufacturer's website of the device and download & Install the drivers / software for that device. If your device is not faulty then plug your device in your PC and go to the device manager then update your 'Flash Drive' (http://www.eprovided.com/usb-flash-drive-data-recovery.html). You can do this to get there. Go to START -RUN-Type in devmgmt.msc Look for YELLOW MARKER(s) Right Click where the yellow represents and choose UNINSTALL Choose YES - when asked if your are sure Restart your PC Allow the found new hardware wizard to Reinstall your USB Driver. If you are still encountering problems then you can consult the experts. They can help you a lot with 'Data Recovery' (http://www.eprovided.com) and USB Drive malfunction. | Re: USB Device Not Recognized It could be problem with the your USB port. First of all you have to try with rear side port if not solved then you have to installed chipset driver again. -- rameshparajuli ------------------------------------------------------------------------ rameshparajuli's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/154633.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-hardware-devices/1237839.htm http://forums.techarena.in |
