I started getting ink smears when printing. They are horizontal lines
that vary in length.

I've tried aligning, cleaning, and even changing cartridges but to no
avail.

I did notice a crumpled piece of foam under where the black cartridge
parks and some ink under that. I removed the foam and it printed two
pages perfectly then back to smearing.

This is on a vista system although it always worked before under
vista.

Am really in need of a suggestion ...
