Hi,

Are both Vista and Ubuntu installed to the same drive? If so, then you're
probably correct that it's a Windows issue, a clean install to a new folder
would be my first choice to rule out a corrupt installation. If both are
installed to separate physical drives, then the one housing Vista would be
suspect as faulty.
