| Re: Sudden Bluescreen because of Wireless Network Adapter I was having a similar issue. When I would get the blue screen, part of the error message would state to check recently added software. I also noticed that it only happened when I was connected to the internet. The only software that I was running that was recently installed and used my internet connection was VUZE (for torrents). This thread is continued from one that was started on Microsoft's website so I wanted to add that people there mentioned that they wondered if it had anything to do with torrents. Well guess what? I uninstalled VUZE and AFTER I UNINSTALLED IT, I STOPPED HAVING PROBLEMS! It's been almost a week and my laptop has been running great. I really liked VUZE so I'm gonna reinstall it and see what happens. I'm not that computer literate so it's all about a lot of trial and error, mostly error LOL Give it a shot, hope it helps someone. |

| RE: Sudden Bluescreen because of Wireless Network Adapter i was constantly having this problem as i stated above in an earlier post. I have discovered that the problem is caused by the network card causing the computer to overheat inside. I have concluded this because while experiencing this problem or any time my network card would be enable the fan would ran numerous times even when the computer was not doing processor intensive taks. So after noticing this i purchashed a usb network adapter and disabled the internal adapter and i have not had the problem occur in over 3 weeks while before i was experiencing it everday. I am almost 100 percent sure that the problem is caused by improper cooling of the computer and that the network card causes the computer to overheat which causes the network connection to freeze up and then causes the computer to be unable to turn on or off the network adapter and finally results with the BSD. My only advice is to somehow create better cooling in the laptop or purchase an external adapter and disable the internal adapter. | Re: Sudden Bluescreen because of Wireless Network Adapter I have been having this issue too for a while. I kept on updating my WiFi adapter driver (the rtlk8081.sys) but really i was using the same old one that is available. just yesterday, I noticed that it's Vuze that is causing it. When it's not running, my system doesn't crash. Weird thing is, Vuze never caused that untill a few weeks ago. Now, I can't have Vuze run for more than a few minutes without my system crashing. Btw- this problem has nothing to do with Gateway systems or any other manufacturer. I built my system, and it has no gateway parts. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Specs: Windows Version: Windows 5.1 Service Pack 3 (Build 2600) BIOS Version: A M I - 2000425 System BIOS Date: 02/25/04 Processor Type: x86 Family 15 Model 3 Stepping 3 Processor Vendor: Intel Physical Memory: 1024 MB Drive F: Type: Fixed disk drive Total Space: 36,701,163,520 bytes Free Space: 2,677,211,136 bytes Drive G: Type: Fixed disk drive Total Space: 45,642,076,160 bytes Free Space: 32,265,482,240 bytes Heads: 255 Cylinders: 10011 Sectors Per Track: 63 Bytes Per Sector: 512 *note: drive G and F are the same disc. there is another drive not shown (malfunctioning for some reason) Both HITACHI Deskstar (160GB and 80GB)* IRQ Usage Summary: (ISA) 0 System timer (ISA) 1 Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard (ISA) 3 Communications Port (COM2) (ISA) 4 Communications Port (COM1) (ISA) 6 Standard floppy disk controller (ISA) 8 System CMOS/real time clock (ISA) 9 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System *(PCI) 11 RAID Controller (PCI) 11 Intel(R) 82801EB SMBus Controller - 24D3 (ISA) 12 Microsoft PS/2 Port Mouse (IntelliPoint) (ISA) 13 Numeric data processor (ISA) 15 Secondary IDE Channel (PCI) 16 NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT (PCI) 16 Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D2 (PCI) 16 Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24DE (PCI) 17 Realtek AC'97 Audio (PCI) 18 Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D7 (PCI) 18 Intel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers (PCI) 19 Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D4 (PCI) 20 VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller (PCI) 21 IEEE 802.11b Wireless Cardbus/PCI Adapter (PCI) 23 Intel(R) 82801EB USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 24DD ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hope that didnt flood you too much.
