After Windows Update I Have No Sound

I have a Toshiba P105 S6177 Satellite and I run 32 bit Vista. The other day
Windows installed an update and I lost my sound, but was able to retrieve it
by going into sound and disabling the Conexant HD and enabling my originial
settings. Today, however, I lost sound again and my original option (sorry
don't remember what it is now) is no longer there. I just have the Conexant
HD for my speakers and an SPDIF Interface also conexant. I do not have
external speakers and nothing happens when I plug in head phones. I have no
sound what so ever. I've checked the Toshiba site and found nothing useful.
Can someone please help me? Is there a way I can do a system restore to a day
ago when everything worked just fine? I can't figure it out and I'm about
ready to chuck this whole thing and switch to mac. Thanks in advance!

Xploder HD Movie Player for PS3. Manage, convert and transfer media files between the PC and PS3.

Use System Restore to a point before the update.
