CD/DVD Missing - Dead Horse?

I was looking through old posts hoping to find a easy solution to the
following problem: My CD/DVD went missing. I tried re-loading drivers from
on-line. no luck. I tried a system-rollback - no luck.

As it was a Toshiba product - I went to they're website - they provide no
support or community help. I would happily re-boot the system - but I dont
have a cd/dvd drive anymore! I tried putting the the Boot disks on my jump
drive but it wouldn't fit.

Some of the answers from old posts talked about cdrom.sys file and offered a
link but the link is no longer there. Hopefully somneone still has the answer?

It's possible that the drive just died.

Do you know how to set your system BIOS to boot from a CD if one is in
the drive? Doing that, and attempting to boot from your Windows CD
will answer the question whether or not the drive has died.

Re: CD/DVD Missing - Dead Horse?

Thanks for the input. I tried the system rollback again last night after
posting my message. Everything seems to be running fine. Thanks again.
