No Parallel Printer but Event Error Log each bootup...

Vista Home Premium w/SP1 all Windows Updates applied. I have no parallel
port on this motherboard (that I know of <g>), Device Manager doesn't show
any Parallel port devices or ports, but Event Viewer continues to log the
below error each boot:

The Parallel port driver service failed to start due to the following
error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it
has no enabled devices associated with it.

I can't find the Service it may be talking about, and I don't find the
online help very, errm helpful on this one. Any ideas?

YEAH... ignore that listing in the event logs.

Notice the part "...or because it has no enabled devices..."

IOW, it's NORMAL

Yeahbut<g>... I know I can ignore it, but I'd like to find a way to
resolve it. It's not "normal" :)

It IS normal. You can NOT get rid of it.

But I can get rid of YOU.

Turn it off in the BIOS.

If that doesn't do it, then:

Disable the service in Administrative Tools as well.

Read! The OP doesn't even have a parallel port.

Would you have any recommendation on what service to disable? Do you
have a clue what you are talking about?

For those who may actually care:

I found this MS KB article with the fix in it:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935497/

It requires a minor change to the registry to disable starting the
unlisted parport service.

So, as I said, it's /not/ normal :)
