| Re: Install XP: Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer All new laptops/notebook PC come with a SATA hard drives which XP does not look for and can't recognize. Check in CMOS if there is a setting to disable SATA. If not you have to slipstream the laptop specific driver into XP. He doesn't have to slipstream the driver although that is sometimes a useful way to do it. I've never had a problem just mounting them.
