Here's along shot for you. Check into KB 943899, which may be why they
released the important update which may or may not help by installing from
Windows Update. Or if you are unlucky like me, the update caused the problem,
which is repaired by removing 943899 from the updates on your system.

My last reply was only partly right for my problem, the MB required a Bios
change to an earlier version to correct wake up from sleep which is now
wonderful. Did you apply any HP updates to your notebook, or check into a
bios change needed at their site? Give them a call, wont hurt and may save
you a lot of grief.
