Vista Windows Mobile Device Center, Windows Mobile 5.0 & Outlook 2

Dear all,

Hope someone can help.

I've got a T-Mobile Vario 2 (MDA) which was previously synced to my old Win
XP Pro SP 2 machine, using ActiveSync 4.5 and Outlook 2003. The MDA is using
the Windows Mobile 5.0 system. All seemed fine, no issues with syncing.

I got a new PC about 5-6 weeks ago and set-up my MDA to "sync" with Vista
and Outlook 2003 via the new Windows Mobile Device Centre. All seemed well,
and the device was syncing fine.

Today, without changing anything, I've tried to sync my MDA again with
Outlook 2003 - but the device does not sync correctly with Outlook. The
device is "recognised" and connects fine, and appears to sync fine, but what
seems to be happening is that the device is not actually syncing with
Outlook. Closer inspection appears to be that the Mobile Device Centre
indicates that "Outlook has not been installed" - even though it has been,
and the sync function has previously worked.

Apart from updating Windows (various updates since last sync), I dunno what
to do? I've deleted all records of my old PC (Win XP Pro 2) from the MDA, so
it appears to only partner with one device (new Vista machine). I've deleted
and attempted to start a new Partnership between the MDA and PC - still no
avail.

I'm at a lost now!

Any ideas?

Re: Vista Windows Mobile Device Center, Windows Mobile 5.0 & Outlook 2

I have a new laptop and the T-Mobile MDA Vario II. I upgraded my
contract so I can use the phone as a modem. I've followed the
instructions but the laptop won't recognise the new hardware when I
activate the modem on the phone. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the
drivers but still no luck. As I'm on the move a lot I really need
internet access on my laptop - any ideas how to get the laptop to
recognise the modem please?

Thank you
:)

Re: Vista Windows Mobile Device Center, Windows Mobile 5.0 & Outlo

I recently upgrade my mobile phone to the T-Mobile (HDC) Touch Plus/Dual -
and also upgraded WMDC to version 6.1 under Vista Ultimate, still using
Outlook 2003, and still experience the intermittent issue that the sync
portion doesn't always recognise me have Outlook installed. The boxes are
greyed out and the hoovering over calendar/contact etc states "Outlook is not
installed". Any ideas anyone?
