| Re: Keyboard problem Hi Conny, If rebooting doesn't help, then I suspect you may have a failure in the keyboard itself. You'd have to contact Sony for warranty work or a reputable repair shop. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Conny" <Conny@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2BA5814E-66E5-46B6-828C-C5A640CDF83D@microsoft.com... > Hi, > > I have a Sony Vaio laptop (with Vista OS). | Re: Keyboard problem Hi Rick, Thanks Rick for answering my question! Rebooting doesn't help. If there was a problem with only one key, I would have suspected a hardware failure in the keyboard. But it seems strange to me that several keys stops working at the same time if it is a hardware problem. But of course, I don't exactly know how a keyboard is designed (although I do work with hardware design). Someone at work told me it might be a driver problem. Any other sugestions if it is not hardware failure. I really don't want to send my computer back to Sony. When i am attempting to play a game(neverwinternights,counter-strike source) during the game it will periodically cut out completely allowing me to attempt to type a text message but then all key put is halted allowing nothing to be typed but return functions. another wierd effect is all upper case with go wonky and instead of getting ? {} :" i get extendied ascii stuff like accented E's and whatnot. I have noticed that i have a HID compliant driver in my control panel but do not use a USB or wireless keyboard and cannot disable nor uninstall this pesty lil bugger...any help on this would be most appreciated.
