| DVD-RW stopped working I installed Magix Photostory 5 and then my DVD stopped working. I uninstalled the program but that did not help. I have looked at several post but cannot seem to make any of the solutions work. I am getting the code 39 error. Please help. |

| RE: DVD-RW stopped working Lisa, The following link may provide a solution. Follow the instructions on the following Microsoft article to remove upper and lower filters: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/929461 Sometimes this solution works, but who knows until you try it. In addition to the program you installed, some burner programs, such as Nero and/or iTunes/iPod have been known to cause the problem you're having. Note in the Microsoft article that you may need to reinstall a program, if that's what's causing the problem. Post back on the results. -- freddy "Lisa" wrote: > I installed Magix Photostory 5 and then my DVD stopped working. I > uninstalled the program but that did not help. | RE: DVD-RW stopped working Thanks for the link. I was having a similar problem. I was trying to get help from Dell (thinking it was the DVD-RW hardware). They sent me XP solutions, even though I told them I upgraded. Anyway. This seems to have fixed my problem. Time will tell for sure, but I can watch DVD on my pc now. Thanks Again!!!
